Three cities and three parks, over 80 artists, 13 nationalities, 8 art schools and national academies involved. The fifth edition of Humus Park, International Land Art Meeting and Exposition, was held from the 9th to the 21st of May 2016 and it takes place every two years. It is curated by Gabriele Meneguzzi and Vincenzo Sponga and organized by the Municipality of Pordenone together with the Municipalities of Caneva and Polcenigo, with the support of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and the Province of Pordenone. This latest edition further broadens the horizons creating new relations in time and space, between nationalities and peculiarities of all the artists.
Two weeks: the first one from the 9th to the 14th of May at the site of Palù di Livenza (a very important archeological Unesco World Heritage Site, located between Caneva and Polcenigo and full of spring waters). The second one, from the 16th to the 21st of May took place in the Park of the Archeological Museum of Torre in Pordenone and in the Seminario Park nearby following the Noncello river.
The directors set strict guidelines: all the artists work in pairs and must develop their creations using exclusively natural materials found on the spot, that means branches, leaves, rocks, soil, trees, bushes, clumps, grass, water, wind. All 80 participants are national and international artists, selected students from local art schools and national academies.
This particular formula characterizes Humus Park ever since its first edition and allows a considerable interchange of ideas, energies and experiences.
You can visit Humus Park during the official exhibition or later and enjoy a great compound of art, history, archeology and nature, discovering enchanting spots of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
