Nativity Scene Train and Christmas Markets

17 December 2023 – from Gemona del Friuli to Sacile

The Nativity Scenes and Christmas Markets train takes passengers from Gemona to Sacile along the historic railway, stopping in Poffabro and Polcenigo for the nativity scenes and Christmas markets. An evocative journey into the warm magic of Christmas.

Plan:
09.30-11.30 Guided tour of the village of Poffabro where the Nativity is rediscovered, thanks to the numerous handcrafted nativity scenes that adorn galleries, courtyards and windows throughout the town

12.30-14.30 Free lunch in Polcenigo among the nativity scenes arranged behind the windows of the houses overlooking the streets of the village and in the most characteristic corners of the town

3.00pm-5.00pm Visit to Sacile where traveling entertainment, magic shows and a child make-up station are active in the streets of the centre. Opening of the traditional Christmas Market houses in the courtyard of Palazzo Ragazzoni, Giardini Ortazza and Piazzetta Manin with crafts and Christmas objects (from 3.30 pm) and food and wine proposals (from 5.00 pm).

Possibility of free visits to Palazzo Ragazzoni (3.30pm-5.30pm)
Opportunity to visit the exhibition “Along the tracks of our childhood”, to discover the magical world of model railways, with many moving trains, vintage toys and historical documentation (ex Chiesa San Gregorio, free entry).

SERVICE INFORMATION FOR PASSENGERS:

Upon arrival in Maniago, passengers will find shuttle buses for the transfer to Poffabro at the station exit.
The shuttle buses will depart from Poffabro from the stopping point indicated upon arrival.

Upon arrival in Budoia, passengers will find the shuttle buses for the transfer to Polcenigo at the station exit. The shuttle buses will depart from Polcenigo to Sacile from the Church of San Rocco (located at the end of the nativity scene circuit, approximately 150 meters from the passenger unloading point on arrival).

Upon arrival at Sacile (Railway Station) passengers will be able to reach the center on foot. Please note that the historic train will depart from Sacile station at 6.00 pm. Passengers will return to the station on foot from the historic center of the city.

We recommend that you carefully read the signs at the stopping point and pay attention to the shuttle departure times
